Generate an income from the roof of your home or business.

Are you thinking about buying a solar electric system for your house or business?

If so, here are some basic questions and answers that can help you evaluate whether solar is right for you. Solar Electric Systems also known as PV systems (photovoltaic) are reliable and renewable ways to generate energy. They make use of the most abundant source of energy- the SUN.

A PV system can be substantial investment, but coupled between the attractive F.I.T. (Feed in Tariff) and our financing programmes, solar is now cost effective and affordable for everyone.

Ontario Power Authority - Proposed Feed-in Tariff Program Mission Statement:
"in the context of the proposed Green Energy Act, a Feed-In Tariff (FIT) Program will be used to procure new renewable energy projects. A FIT Program will provide standardized prices through multi-year contracts that will help spark new investment in renewable energy supply, help increase investor confidence, and improve access to financing for these projects."

How Solar Works.

  1. The solar panels are made up of tiny cells made up of treated silicon – each one collects solar radiation and converts it into an electrical current.
  2. These panels are wired together in series to create an array, and the electrical output from that array travels through wires and conduit to an inverter, typically located near your breaker box.
  3. The inverter converts the electrical current called “Direct Current” or DC into “Alternating Current” or AC which is used to run TV’s, appliances, computers tec.

How do I apply for the F.I.T. rebate?

  1. The Ontario Power Authority will soon finalize the draft for rules and regulations. An inside OPA resource claims this will come into effect by the end of July 2009.
  2. Programme will be live by the end of August. Install now to avoid product shortages.
Why should I buy a Solar System?
  1. ELIMINATE YOUR ELECTRIC BILL.
  2. GUARANTEE AN INCOME FOR 20 YEARS.
  3. PROTECT THE ENVIRONMENT.
  4. INCREASE YOUR PROPERTY VALUE
  5. BETTER THAN A GIC (10% RETURN ON INVESTMENT)
Is my home or business a good place for a PV system?

A well designed solar system needs clear access to the suns with limited or no shading issues. You can often make a good determination yourself by identifying optimal roof lines and evaluate any shading hazards like trees, chimneys and neighbouring homes or businesses. Typically, the best orientation is “Southern Facing”, however west or faces may also be acceptable. On older type roof properties please consult with a structural engineer to ensure weight loads permissions.

Which panels do you work with?

We only work with the best of products; in fact the Solar panels we supply and install are made in Canada. The Solar Array Systems are tried and tested to the highest standards around the globe. We will customize each and every application to suit the needs and requirements of any customer installation. For All-Tech Services to install and recommend a system it must be cost effective, available, and incremental and come from a reputable company that will have a meaningful warranty.

Is it proven technology?

The technology has been around for over 50 years and some of the initial solar cells are still working today. The panels are designed to produce at least 80% of their initial power even after 25 years. The efficiency and cost has significantly improved in the last 5 years. Solar has never been so affordable or safe investment.
Solar Panels come with a 25 year Warranty.
The Inverter comes with a 10-15 year Warranty.
Our workmanship comes with a 10 year Warranty.
So with this kind of guarantee, there is nothing to fear, but saving and making money.

Do I need to notify my home owner’s insurance?

Prior to installing your Solar System, we recommend you contact your insurance carrier to determine the impact on the yearly premium. Typically, a solar system will impact your premium very little; however it’s best that you ensure coverage at the start of the project. Solar Systems come with a long term manufacturer and workmanship warranty, however, we recommend your home insurers or liability insurance cover the costs of unexpected issues, radical snow loads or weather related issues.
